Horsewoman Liz goes for glory in two major events

Two of Britain’s most prestigious horse shows beckon for a Dutton-based horse woman who is enjoying her most successful showing season to date. Twenty-one-year-old Liz Cross is off to the Royal International Horse Show at Hickstead and the Horse of the Year Show at Birmingham’s NEC. Thrilled to bits to have won her way through to a number of classes at both Hickstead this’ month and at Birmingham later in the year after a run of successes with horses Pip and Spirit,....

Her successful season began at Easter with the British Show Pony Society Winter Championships in Lincoln followed by the North of England Show with horses Pip (Faraneila Valencia), a 10-year-old bay mare, and Spirit (Shuvais Taurean Spirit), a five-year-old bay gelding....

Qualifying for the Royal International means Liz is now elevated from amateur status into the ‘professional arena’ ..

Liz’s many successes, including some good wins in Scotland, mean she will now be entering three classes at the Royal International with Pip and three with Spirit, along with two classes at the Horse of the Year Show with the same horses....

Liz has also qualified for the Cherif Championships in Buckinghamshire in September with Pip and Spirit....
