GISBURN

The civil parish of Gisburn covers 852 hectares (2103 acres) and is part of the Ribble Valley in the County of Lancashire. The commercial and administrative centre of the area is Clitheroe, which is 7 miles to the west of the village.

Until local government reorganisation in 1974 Gisburn was part of the West Riding of Yorkshire, administered by Bowland Rural District Council.

The central area of the village is designated a Conservation area.
